We were so lucky that friends of ours recommended Alex as our broker. We first brought Alex on after we found a new condo we intended to purchase. He could have encouraged us to buy the apartment and closed in a matter of weeks with virtually no work on his part. Instead Alex encouraged us, first time homebuyers, to consider other options. So began a nearly year-long relationship that led us to finding an amazing apartment we never realized we wanted! He introduced us to other neighborhoods and different styles of apartments. Over time he helped us build an understanding of the marketplace and the options available to us. He pushed us outside of our comfort zone, which led to important discoveries: rather than new construction, actually our preferences leaned pre-war; while we assumed our price range limited us to Brooklyn, actually there were some surprising deals to be had in Manhattan. Through it all Alex was patient and respectful. He never pressured us to increase our budget. In fact, the apartment we ultimately bought was less expensive than that first one we intended to buy. He was always available, replying to emails and texts at all hours, and lining up appointments for showings with very little notice. He always made us feel like a priority, even though he is often working with several clients. His insights were critical during the stressful process of bidding. And his advice was much appreciated through our co-op application and interview. The process of buying an apartment in NYC is formidable. Having a knowledgeable and effective broker is a must. Alex ticks those boxes, but it’s his positive energy and enthusiasm that really sets him apart. He’s a nice guy- and you can’t say that about all brokers. We’ve already recommended Alex to friends who now have their own positive experience to share.
